Welcome to the Butterfly class!
The Caterpillar College offers a time-tested cobblestone trail that delicately transitions your child from the home environment to the school environment with confidence, character and poise. Our Mommy & Me class transitioned both you and your child from your family environment at the beginning of the year to the three-year-old classroom, which your child independently attended on the last day. The Caterpillar Class introduced your child to new concepts and subjects while building a strong foundation for social and physical growth.
Now it is time for the next step: the Butterfly Class. We have witnessed something extraordinary every year in the Butterfly Class - your child blossoms into an enlightened and motivated individual. Whether this is your child's first or second year as a butterfly, s/he will be exposed to new material, experiences and lessons that do not repeat from one year to the next. Each student feels the proud sense of accomplishment when they are continually challenged and succeed in doing their best work.
The butterfly class is structured and disciplined, but also more fun than your child can imagine. We take advantage of every teachable moment, whether it be academic, social, physical or artistic. Repetition of concepts in group and one-on-one settings provide a solid foundation for learning.
Two parent teacher conferences evaluate progress across six developmental areas: work habits, social/emotional, language, music & art, physical, and intellectual. Field trips expose students to safety, the farm, live theater, opportunities to celebrate learning their address and phone number, and showing off good manners (among others). Monthly programs allow the students to perform in front of a large group and show the parents what the students have been learning. We teach diversity, understanding and respect for others.
On behalf of our entire staff, we welcome you to the Butterfly Class and look forward to seeing your child develop.
